I have known Aunt Martha for as long as I can remember. Truly. I think I even remember my mom saying that I met Alvin when he was 6mo old and I was 1 year old. Alvin's father and my father were the best of friends. I can remember so many times when Auntie/Uncle/Alvin would come to our house - one Wang family to another. I remember Auntie asking me to play piano or violin for her when there was an instrument around. She would listen so proudly, as if I were her daughter. I am so grateful to have seen her consistently over the years, sharing stories, Auntie was always interested in hearing what I was doing. I remember when she spoke about Alvin getting engaged. She couldn't be happier. I will never forget her excitement and happiness when she told me she was going to be a grandmother. Oh, I had tears in my eyes when she told me. A few years ago at the summer conference, I remember how she remarked how healthy I looked. As an asian american, not to mention Taiwanese American, I'm always suspect about comments on my physical appearance because I'm not the stick-thin, waif-type body type. But Auntie's words were so pure. She was truly so impressed with how strong I was and told me that she was very happy to see me that way, and not to change a thing or to get thinner. It always made me feel good to make her proud. Auntie, you are loved and are sorely missed. I will absolutely miss your warm, loving hugs. Love always, Audrey (Wang)
